SA-3 cylinder shape burrs are good for interior contour work and deburring. As a result of extreme hardness on this tungsten carbide, you can use it on far more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel).
Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be utilized on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, and also for all non-metal materials like stone, plastics, hard wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs leaves a somewhat smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips because they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is regarded as the popular cut and may view you through most applications.
Machines Used On:
Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders
Application:
Ferrous Materials – Certain, Steel, Stainless, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron
Non-Ferrous Materials – Copper
Many other materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
Cylinder Shape burrs are good for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
Safety Tips & Techniques:
Tool speed is decided by the material you’re using your burr on. If you might be experiencing chipping, you’re probably operating at way too high of speed for that application. Start having a slower speed while increasing on the way and soon you attain the best results
Apply light pressure and allow the tool do the work. Bearing upon the tool will result in reduced tool life along with a dull burr.
Always wear proper PPE to incorporate (and not tied to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and safety gloves. Keep all guards set up on your machine.
Avoid experience electric power drills; the slower speeds may lead to chipping of your respective workpiece.
