A program in Miracles offers us an avenue of awakening by showing us our usual perception and sense of identity are distorted. It offers us a means of correcting these distortions so that we can see ourselves and the world more clearly. This transformation in perception ‘s what the Course means by a “miracle.”

In comparison to some other thought systems, Training in Miracles will not suggest withdrawal through the world. It teaches that our relationships offer us unique and valuable opportunities for learning, awakening and healing. The program offers a variety of approaches through which relationships according to fear and lack can be healed. Forgiveness of ourselves and others supplies the strategies which we could use relationships to let go of history having its burden of guilt and grievances. Negative credit the Course, “forgiveness” means recognizing that that which you thought your brother did for you hasn’t occurred. Forgiveness does not pardon sins and earn them real. It understands that there wasn’t any sin. Forgiveness shows us only the extensions of love or necessitates love, not the attack or hate. By changing our perception in this way, we are able to take away the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, that this Course says is our natural inheritance.

An ambition of your Course in Miracles is usually to train us to be handled by God’s voice, the Holy Spirit. This extension of God’s mind is our inner guide, that will direct our thoughts, telling us what things to do, and directing all our efforts. To be truly effective, we have to discover how to depend upon our own internal teacher as an alternative to trying to find help outside ourselves. We have been thus guided to discover our personal God-given function.

Even as we are led from the realm of the ego to love, our perception of ourselves as separated persons is corrected, and that we remember our higher, or true Self. We remember we had arrived created by God as His Child, and we are enabled to just accept the Christ within, and see with Christ’s vision. We recognize our oneness with God, our Self, and many types of our brothers, and they are able, finally, to “teach only love,” which can be our true be Kids of God.
