Botanical garden of Gambarogno
This magnificent botanic garden is situated for the Gambarogno-side of Lake Maggiore, on the plain inside the hills between Piazzogna and Vairano.
On this place, Otto Eisenhut, the patient and talented cultivator of plants and trees, cultivated a huge number of beautiful and vibrant flowering plants like 950 varieties of camelias, 450 different magnolias, azaleas, peonies and Rhododendron over a surface of over 20’000 m2.
Additionally, here grows also ivy, pines, juniper as well as other rare European and exotic coniferous trees.
Forever of the year 2000 the park is led with the donation ” parco botanico del gambarogno “, which would be to ensure the continuity on this attractive garden having its valuable botanic collection.
