Cardada Cimetta
Have you thought that above Locarno you will find there’s view point from which you can observe as well the cheapest point (Lago Maggiore) and the highest point (Dufour Peak in Monte Rosa) in Switzerland?
About the summit of the mountain, 1671 meters above sea level, a viewing platform was built which overlooks the entire region of Lake Maggiore. Towards the east the vista stretches from your Magadino Plain to Bellinzona. Towards the west the scene extends over probably the most famous peaks with the Swiss Alps including the Dufour. To florida, beyond the mountains that surround Lake Maggiore, you will see in the distance the Ligurian Apennines, located near Genoa.
Further down, a number of meters out of the arrival station from the cable car a footbridge was built which winds its way through the tops of the trees from the woods below. From this unusual scenic promontory you’ll be able to admire the forest, the Centovalli and aspects of the Maggia Valley.
