When Jesus came and brought the gospel of Christianity it had been welcomed from the masses as exceptionally good news. Thousands followed him to hear the text of life that he spoke. After he was crucified, his disciples continued preaching and teaching his ways and they were likewise welcomed because the bringers of excellent news.
Of course not everyone was thrilled only at that new teaching. The established religion of the day opposed it violently, even putting many to death for preaching the text of God. They whipped, beat, imprisoned and crucified many people who decided to follow or teach the brand new gospel. Yet regardless of the suffering inflicted, they could not destroy this teaching or halt the spread with this great news.

Just watch the night news or pick-up a newspaper and you will probably see the sin and evil rampant these days which includes man in the grip. It can be tremendously stressful to find out or read this stuff. Pressure and tension build until many people reach the point where they wish it would all vanish entirely or they can escape the tension.
To be released because of this stress would truly be not merely nice thing about it, but Very good news. And that is precisely what Jesus and his awesome disciples offered within their teachings, and why the people flocked to hear these words in the good news of the gospel of Christ.
The truth with the Gospel is about freedom, in fact it is on the market today just like it absolutely was during this time. The good thing with the gospel offers freedom from bondage, freedom from sin, freedom from stress and freedom from all the pressures of this world.
