How weddings have changed over the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do look forward to hearing them, discussing them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, in the meal and after the meal, however it’s of a strong opinion the wedding speeches should be delivered following your meal. I realize that for several wedding party speakers i.e. Father with the Bride Speech, Father from the father of the bride speech (the 5 main speakers), they would would rather possess the wedding speeches before the meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and how many of them (as well as wedding ceremony venue staff) would choose the wedding ceremony speeches being delivered following your meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have been fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which would be the case before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches ahead of the meal as well as their could be a delay of A quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches act as the transition through the meal towards the dancing (with nothing happening following your meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to be shared in regards to the Bride & Groom after which it they do know they’re able to get up, maneuver around, take a rest, go for a walk, navigate to the bar…)
It’s a challenge for folks from the Bride & Groom to talk in public, as most of them wouldn’t be used from it. So, they could, if they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some type of formal speech(es) following your meal…
