A documentary in four chapters about the duration of Brett Shapiro Jew, writer, homosexual. Each chapter alternates Shapiro’s life with artists, intellectuals and psychologists on four different themes: identity, writing, normality, and non-traditional families.
The documentary by Mariano Lamberti and Roberta Calandra leaves everyone breathless. Perhaps to the non-celebratory course, because of its solid and well-groomed style, the setting in which the camera and eye of the spectator blend. Perhaps to the passion that breathes underneath the roberta calandra film, to the audacity of telling a narrative how the authors never tell, and the producers don’t want to hear it tell.
